The Process
THE PROCESS
There’s more to the story.
Often, when I tell people that aren’t in a “creative” field what I do the first response is usually something like “oh wow, that sounds like fun” or “you get to go out and take pictures every day?”.
And while it is fun, and I’m often out making images, the full story is much more involved.

As we continue talking they’re often surprised to hear all of the behind the scenes work that goes into creating images. That is usually followed by the realization that it’s not just going out to shoot everyday.
The fact is, that the images don’t come together by luck and chance. It takes a team of people working together to make sure that everything comes together.

All of the work and research that goes into pre-production is necessary to deliver the images the client is expecting to get. That I expect to deliver. Every time. Sometimes it can feel like all of the work in pre-production and planning overshadows the actual image making. We put all of our best planning and creative thinking together so that the actual shoot day can be more relaxed, productive, and creative.
It’s a collaborative effort from everyone on the team. Aside from me there are stylists, assistants, location scouts, and producers. All working together in communication with the agency and/or client to make sure that everything has been thought of, considered, and prepared for.
Prepared, ready, and on point with the creative. This is when things work best.
